It is the same principle as a waffle weave, applied to a knit.

Combed cotton means the short fibres are removed before the yarn is spun. The surface is smoother, it resists pilling under a bag strap or a seatbelt, and the sage holds through repeated washing instead of going chalky. The quarter-zip runs on a matched metal pull set into a flat placket, so nothing catches under a coat or a strap. Cuffs and hem are ribbed to match the body, and the rib runs uninterrupted from collar to hem with no yoke seam across the back to break it.

Fit and sizing

Clean through the shoulder and easy through the body — a considered fit rather than a fitted one, cut to skim instead of cling. The ribbed hem holds at the hip so it sits well untucked over trousers and does not ride up when tucked. Available in S, M and L. Zipped high with tailored trousers and flats, it reads like knitwear and carries a working day without a jacket. Half open over denim with gold at the ear, it reads like a weekend.
